"FRIDAY 16TH NOVEMBER
GREAT NORTHERN
BYRON BAY, FREE ENTRY"
Sometimes you just have to face the fact that you can't manage. Fail. Uni work. Can't do it. Overload. Alarms in my head screaming out system failure, error, blue screen. Shut down. Computer says no. But it's too late to cry. There's more important things coming up. The major paper. Now it's all about music. Turn and then burn the last page. Start fresh on a new one. Waisted too much time worrying. About what? Hard to say. Head's a mess. I keep a journal every day and I always scribble down all these small itineraries to try get the most of my time here down under. All these challenges. I face them wherever I go. So many things draw my attention. Things like this especially ...
Australia just keeps getting better. In my wildest dreams I could never picture this semester and the outcome of it. I'm still only half way on my trip and it terrifies me just thinking of it! In a good way that is. This journey gets me shaking. I never wanna go home. So amazed. Mark my words it hasn't all been like a good dream fairytale, but I choose to look forward to Byron Bay upcoming Friday. And so should you!
My Sydney Riot presents Goons of Doom with special guests The Fisted Princesses, Bec and Ben, and Mylee Grace at The Great Northern Hotel. It's gonna be rad! The Corona House has again this week hosted a bunch of these crazy talented musicians. The Goons are making another record! Can't wait to hear the Belongil Beach vibes recorded on tape. I guess they've written history again. Anyway, if you're in the area you should bring your grandma, aunt in law, your neighbours' sisters, you mom and all the other fellas that you meet on the road to the Great Northern! Read more about the event on the My Sydney Riot blog.
Here are some pictures from the Goons' gig at the opening of the new Volcom Boardlab September 29, Coolangatta, QLD. Epic night! Got so many new cuts and bruises on my arms and legs resulting in the nickname Mr. Bum. Thanks to my horrible skateboard abilities and awesome taste of music I got a bunch of new friends and memories for life.
We kids were loving it!
It's like I'm in this dreamlike state of mind fully aware of what's going on around me. At the same time I drift off into this other dimension watching everything from the outside. Lucid dream. Cultural shock. So many feelings inside. I'm about to burst! Rush of love. I'm totally blown away. Viet Nam with its people, temples, cuisine, bays, markets, mountains and massage marked me forever. Tomorrow I'll say goodbye to Safety Bay and Western Australia. East Coast is calling. Good vibes and waves! Love K.
Tunez: First check out all of Goons of Doom's records here and prepare yourself for a blast this Friday. Then check out the links to the other bands! It's sure gonna be a night to remember.
